Where Orange County drivers get locked out

Orange County sees an enormous number of visitors, and plenty of them are driving a car they picked up hours earlier and have never locked before. Add summer heat, children, strollers and shopping bags, and keys end up on a seat or in a trunk more often than anyone would like. Residents do it too — in the big complex lots around UCF, in downtown garages and at the grocery store.

International Drive hotels, attractions and outlets

The parking along International Drive is spread across hotels, restaurants, ICON Park and the outlet centers, and many lots look alike. When you call, give the name of the business you parked at, the row or nearest entrance, and the car's color and plate. Theme parks and hotels handle their own property, so the locksmith meets you at your car in the lot, not inside a park.

Rental cars from the airport

If the car is a rental, look at the agreement or the key tag for the company's roadside number before calling anyone else. Some renters prefer that route; others would rather not wait. Either way, the locksmith will ask for the rental contract and your ID to confirm you are the authorized driver.

Orlando International Airport garages

Orlando International Airport sits southeast of downtown, and its rental returns and public parking are in garages beside the terminals.
